Philippine Airlines Flight Review: MNL to CEB, December 2011

Travel alone is somewhat challenging in a sense that you will be out of town exploring and checking the different sites and places by yourself. But for me, travel alone will increase my confidence and be able to interact with people in different languages and cultures. This was somewhat a gift from myself and wanted to explore the places by myself.

Thanks to Philippine Airlines and I was able to book a promo fare to and from Cebu. I was able to book these flights 2 months prior to my intended travels. I was able to plan as early in going to Cebu, searching for affordable hotels, jeepney routes and so on and so fort. This is a budgeted travel so to speak so going to Cebu with some few money is worth experimenting on my part. And this time, I have to go to NAIA Terminal 2 without taking a cab or taxi. I left at 6AM. From my house in Cubao, I took an MRT ride to Taft Avenue for PHP14. Right beside the station was a NAIA shuttle to Terminal 3 which costs PHP20 and another shuttle bus from NAIA Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 for only PHP20 which brings to a total of PHP54. What a successful  experiment! :)

I arrived the airport at 7:30AM and went straight to the check-in counter. There were many flights this time as compared to the previous blog last October where Philippine Airlines had limited flights due to their situation but this time, it went back to normal. The check-in counter was crowded and good thing the staff was busy assisting us so it went smooth and it took only 30 minutes for me to check-in.

Boarding time was a bit early as I expected.  It was a good move since I expected many passengers due to Boeing 747-400 deployment on this flight which seats up to 480 passengers. But according to some crew, flight was only 75% full. Not bad because passengers will range from 350-380 which still full for me. Boarding remained breeze as we proceed to Gate S2 until we approached the aircraft which one of the biggest. :)

It was a great travel experience with Philippine Airlines. Consistently doing well from check-in up to the flight attendants' accommodating during the flight. Our travel was on time from take off to landing. Great pleasure traveling with the flag carrier. Nice take off and landing experiences on board Boeing 747-400. I didn't feel any bumpy ride along our way to Cebu. Good job Philippine Airlines! :)
