Mesmerizing Caleruega - Nasugbu, Batangas

Caleruega, Batangas

Our team decided to have our last minute team bonding. Though some of the members didn't join due to their respective agendas, we still decided to continue and enjoy. We started by riding a bus at 4AM. Once we stepped Tagaytay-Mendez areas, we felt the cool breeze of fresh air. We got our breakfast hosted by one of our team members, Mommy Jane.

We headed back to the city and we proceeded to Caleruega, a great destination in Nasugbu, Batangas and an ideal for wedding events and honeymoon. We rode a jeepney along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road and in 20 minutes, we arrived at Evercrest Golf Club and Resort and we hired a tricycle and in 15 minutes, we arrived at the entrance of Caleruega. We paid PHP30 entrance fee and we were given some leaflets of the information of the place. Once we entered, we were amazed the beauty of the site.

Welcome to Caleruega

There was a wedding going on that's why we weren't able to enter the church. The place was very serene and peaceful. We roamed around the place and took some very nice photos. It was a great experience for us especially for first timers like me. I appreciate nature and it was makes me more relax while staying to this place. More pictures here and this time, no caption to be posted because of the amazing beauty of the place.

It was a great experience visiting this place. A venue for retreats, weddings, vacation and relaxation. Make sure to visit this place during your trip down south. It is one of the best things to experience in Batangas. It was a pleasant surprise for me and it sure another visit to this place someday.  :)

How to get there:

Via Car/Van - If you are coming from Manila, take the South Luzon Express Way (SLEX) and exit to Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Going to the right is on the way to Tagaytay. From Tagaytay Circle take the route going to Nasugbu, Batangas. Upon reaching the arch saying Welcome to Nasugbu, head to the entrance of Evercrest Golf Course. Turn left to enter Evercrest and drive straight ahead. Upon reaching, you will see a sign saying, “To Caleruega” . Turn right and  drive down a bumpy road. In few minutes, you will see Caleruega since all roads end to this place.

Via Commute - Ride a San Agustin bus (from Cubao Terminal) going to Balayan, Batangas. Ask the bus conductor to drop you off to Evercrest Golf Resort which was after the arch sign of Nasugbu, Batangas. Fare is only PHP130. From that place, hire a tricycle that will bring you to Caleruega. It will take 10 minutes before you reach the place. Be sure that you get his contact number so that he will fetch you back to the main highway or you will do the walking back to the main road.  Tricycle fare is PHP50 round trip.

  1. Awesome! May I suggest Taal, Batangas Heritage Town as one of your adventures in 2013! A cornerstone of Filipino history & identity, also Balisong & Barong Tagalog of the Philippines! It is very near Tagaytay, just a few hrs away from Manila. Check out: taal.ph

  3. We just went to caleruega a couple days ago and my God the GUARDS WERE SO RUDE. They made us go back to the car to leave the food and the picnic mat we brought because we looked like we were gonna do a prenup and so we obeyed. After that they told our friend to change because she was wearing a dress that they said was for prenups so they went back to the car for the second time and changed. Then after a while we FINALY got in but were followed by another guard because we still looked like we were gonna do a prenup (I was holding an SLR camera). They even made a scene by shouting at us demanding that we go out. We went straight to the management and told them what happened. We even talked to the priest and showed him the photos in our camera which were normal photos of us and the scenery much like what you see on facebook. So we were allowed to go in. But because of the stress of it all we didnt get to appreciate Caleruega and we didnt event have time to pray because we were so pissed. (One of my friends was even pregnant so imagine the stress!!)

Those guards work in a house of prayer, they should at least learn how to treat people right.

ADVISE FOR PEOPLE PLANNING TO GO TO CALERUEGA:
DONT WEAR DRESSES OR BRING HIGH END CAMERAS BECAUSE GUARDS THERE ARE BEYOND WORDS RUDE IF THEY THINK YOURE GONNA GET YOUR PICTURE TAKEN.

(FYI: May fee kasi pag mag preprenup kaya sila ganon. Dahil sa FEE. Hay buhay. God bless na lang.)

this is my opinion and this opinion was based from what we experienced at this "house of prayer"

Sobrang ironic yung catch phrase nila "Close to nature, closer to God." If they're really closer to God (since they work there everyday) they should reflect Jesus in their actions.

    GOD BLESS THOSE PEOPLE.

Go to Pink Sisters, Oasis or other places instead.
    sayang lang pagod sa Caleruega.
